Maia and reading

I often find Maia reading her books. It will be quite and I'll walk in to see what she is doing and most of the time it is this:

I hope she never grows out of this!

Here come the Dahlins!

Sunday night Grandma and Grandpa (Mom and Dad) Dahlin, came in from Indian, where Terry had been attending a conference there.
Maia loved her reading time with Grandpa and...

...her bath time with Grandma.
Sunday night we had quite the house full but on Monday Mel and Grandma G. headed back home. Terry and Kathy were kind enough to take them back to the airport. When they got back on Monday, we had a pretty chill rest of the day.
On Tuesday while Sean was at school, Maia and I took Grandma and grandpa to the Zoo.

Brown Bears

I'm not quite sure what they are looking at but we walked a lot that day.

Pure Grandparent Pride!
Pride of the jungle...
Our little monkey

Maia wasn't the biggest fan of being on Grandpa's shoulders but it was fun/cute while it lasted.

It was fun for Maia because she got lots of Grandpa time and Grandpa loved reading with her.

The next day we took a tour of the campus and of course we had to check out the library. OSU's library is quite big and has 11 stories.

Maia loved looking out of window and hitting the glass with her head.

Family picture outside the Library.

The student union with Grandma, Grandpa, Maia and Brutus the buckeye.
We later went to watch the Columbus clippers baseball game. It was really a nice night and Maia seamed to enjoy the game.
At this point in Maia life, we were having some serious issues with her cloth diapers. They weren't fitting her right because of how she was growing and it caused many leaks. So after she leaked through one to many diapers she was out of dry pants and had to go pant less for while.

Once the pants dries enough we put them back on so she didn't look so naked.
Snuggle time with Grandma.
The next night Terry and Kathy spent the night in a hotel and Maia and I went over to visit and swim in the pool. It was so warm in the pool room Terry and Kathy sat outside while we swam. Maia loves swimming and it was fun to show off her swimming skills.

In the hotel room there was a picture of this red spear and Maia loved it! She kept pointing at it and trying to get it.

The last night they were here we went out to Danotos pizza and found out that they have really good gluten free pizza there.
Maia loved reading the menu with Grandpa and ...

...playing with his phone.

The next day they came over to say goodbye. They missed Sean since he had already left for the day but I was glad they came to say goodbye. We were so glad that they came to visit and braved our hot house, the craziness that was our lives at the time and for all they did for us while they were here. It is so very wonderful to see Maia interacting with her grandparents and to see that relationship grow. Can't wait till we get to see them again!

Mel and Grandma Visit.

Once Maia and I returned from Oregon we only had a few days till Melanie and Grandma Gottfredson would come to visit. We drove down to Cincinnati  to pick them up and it was well worth the drive.

This was Maia's favorite toy while Mel was visiting, her phone.

While they were visiting we went to visit the Columbus Zoo. Here are some pictures from our zoo adventure:

Maia loved the fish!

Manatees.

We had packed a lunch and took a little break to eat it and plan the next part of the zoo to visit.

Ginormous tortoises.

Maia news best friend.

Watching the gorillas.

Kangaroos! These were pretty cool because you could walk around their habitat and get pretty close to them.

Hanging out at home.

The day before the zoo we decided to go and tour The Ohio State University. We stopped by the student union and got a picture of Mel and Grandma with Bruce the Buckeye.

Poor Maia did not care much for Bruce.

Mel and Sean outside the reflection pond.

Grandma, Sean and Mel.

On Sunday we went to church early in the morning and the afterwards we took a couple of pictures of Mel and Grandma in front of the temple.
