Puerto Rico Day 5

Today was spent surfing and exploring. Sean started off by getting a surfing lesson in the pool from Uncle Jon. He did really well and I was able to catch this gem of Sean up.

Into the big blue ocean and waiting for the perfect wave.

Uncle Jon catching a wave.

These pictures turned out blurry but I still had to post them to prove that he got up and to watch him crash.

A few of us walked to the beach and this was taken on our walk.

I told Sean I would swim out there to meet him when we got there to support him in this new adventure.

Sean did really well on his first time surfing. He was able to get up on the board a few time and had so much fun that he wants to do it again sometime!

After surfing we loaded up in the car and headed to Ponce. When we got there we went to check out this cool old church has parts of it that are over 500 years old.

While we were in there it started poring down rain!

The post that hold up the buildings are wood but they are as hard as cement. When they built this church they carved the posts and put them in place while they were green because once they dry, they become extremely hard. These trees take about 300 year grow so the ones in this building are really old.

Sadie wanted to get her hair wet so she stuck her head out in the rain.

They had these beautiful tile on the steps leading up to the stage.

What a cute family.

This is a fire house that was built in 1883. At first I thought it was quite a funny little building and very awkward but it grows on you a little bit.

This is how Maia likes to ride in her stroller now.

It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the park around the fire house and catholic church building.

After we hung out a bit we headed back. We made a pit stop at Applebees for dinner and then it was off to home to get the kiddos to bed.

Puerto Rico Day 4

Today we had a great Sunday. It started off with church all in spanish! Although I didn't understand what was being said it was really nice to chill, people watch, and feel the spirit. I love singing in another language! Outside the church the neighbor had a bunch of fruit trees so of course I had to snap a few pictures:

Sean and Maia after church.

The cute little church building.

Smiley happy little girl.

After church we went back to the house to grab some grub and some sleep. Well Sean and Maia took a nap while I wrangled the other kids. Sadie helped me wash the dishes then we played pirates in the bedroom with the other two boys. The kids were a little hungry so I cut up some apples. I learned today that almond butter, honey, and greek yogurt go really well together and make a great apply dip.

We then loaded up into the car and headed to Rinco to see the beaches. Along the way the heavens opened and dumped buckets and buckets of water. It let up just a little right as we got to the beach which was awesome and allowed us to have a nice walk. It was perfect timing as Maia was so tired and needed to take a nap. She slept the whole way home and then for about and hour after we got home, but we did had to wake her up so that she would go to sleep later on.

Maia is really growing and working up quite the appetite. Tonight she downed 1 jar of peas and carrots and a half serving of  rice cereal and then nursed after that for quite a while. She is very cute when she is hungry and doesn't want you to mess around with her food, when she wants it she wants it. I guess that is all part of growing. :)

Puerto Rico Day 3

Today after Jon and Michelle did their workouts we all got in the cars and took off to San Sebastian to see some really beautiful waterfalls and go swimming.

Getting ready to go...

This waterfall had a cool rope swing and it was quite fun to use.

Michelle going for the plunge!

Jon's turn...

Maia and Sean checking out the action.

Just hanging out.

Poor guy didn't want to let go of the rope.

I've always wanted to go under a waterfall and it is not as glamorous as people make it look, especially with a sunburn.

So in this picture I posed behind the fall so the water didn't slap my burnt shoulders

Sean cooling his feet.

Poor guy got didn't want to climb back down because he got stopped by a snake.

beautiful flowers at the top of the trees.

Family pic.

Maia was so tired she feel asleep on our way down to the second

On the way home the kids were beat and Sadie fell asleep and landed on Maia's car seat. Maia thought her hair was lots of fun to play with.

Dinner time!

Tonight after dinner we took Maia swimming for the first time. As you can see she loved it!!! I'm glad we have a water baby :)
